WWW Wednesday #4

This is a tag formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and now hosted by Sam at Taking On A World of Words.

So I actually read a fair bit this week … it just so happened that they weren’t any of the books I’m supposed to be reading.

What are you currently reading?

Logan, K - The Gloaming

I am STILL currently reading The Gloaming by Kirsty Logan. I’m struggling with this one but I’ve committed enough time – more time than a 1/4 of any book should warrant – that I don’t want to give in. It’s not that it’s a bad book, it just seems as though nothing is really happening.

What did you recently finish reading?

Finnemore, J - Cabin Pressure Series 3

I finished Cabin Pressure Series 3! Progress, positive progress! I also read both of the current instalments of Cora Brent’s Gentry Generations series – Strike and Turn. I read the original series (The Gentry Boys) back in the good old days of 2014/15 and revisiting that group of characters was enjoyable enough, even if these books weren’t nearly as good. I almost didn’t want to include the book covers in this post because they are misleadingly risque so much so, I was almost disappointed by the tameness of them both. But, when I saw they were spin-offs from the original series, I needed to read them immediately because I had grown quite attached to the original characters and was excited to revisit.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Teo, S - Ponti

Ponti by Sharlene Teo – I really need to get a wiggle on if I’m going to get both The Gloaming and this in for the 19th – pressure’s on!

I tried guys – really I did. I got more reading than I thought done and overtook my reading challenge but I need to get some ARCs in the bag. And soon. Offer me words of encouragement!

Until next time!

  1. I’m sorry you’re having a hard time getting through The Gloaming! I’ve tried at least 3 times to get into The Gracekeepers, but I just can’t do it. I was hoping The Gloaming would be better, cause I love her short stories, but it sounds like it has the same problems as The Gracekeepers.
