This week’s prompt is ‘Books on my Spring TBR’ – since my main priority is beating back my NetGalley backlog a lot of them will be from there but there are a few new releases due out I’ll likely read straight away too.
10. Renegades by Marissa Meyer
This is the March book for the Book Dragons Lair Book Club and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve never read any Marissa Meyer before but I’ve heard good things.
9. Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi
This is the first book in the Pandava Quartet due to be released on the 27th March. It’s being published by the Imprint Rick Riordan Presents which, to me is good as slapping a ‘pre-approved and awesome’ sticker across the front.
8. Ponti by Sharlene Teo
A NetGalley read and probably my next read as the release date is coming up. Not sure what to think going into this one.
7. The Burning Maze by Rick Riordan
The next installment in the Trials of Apollo series – which I’m loving – and I can’t wait – due out 1st May.
6. The Gloaming by Kirsty Logan
Another NetGalley read that I’m quite looking forward to – I love the cover.
5. Smoke in the Sun by Renee Ahdieh
The sequel to Flame in the Mist which I read and fell in love with last year due out on the 5th June.
4. Song of Blood and Stone by L. Penelope
Another NetGalley book (my list is hella long) I’m really looking forward to and seems to be getting a lot of good press so far.
3. The Beast’s Heart by Leife Shallcross
What sounds like an amazing retelling of Beauty and the Beast (they seem all the rage lately, I wonder why that is?) from NetGalley.
2. The Map of Salt and Stars by Jennifer Zeynab Joukhadar
Another NetGalley read – but I’m worried it’s going to make me cry. I don’t know why – it’s just the vibe I’m getting from the description.
1. Between the Blade and the Heart by Amanda Hocking
Another NetGalley book that I’m a smidge late on but can’t wait for because it’s about Valkyries.
Are any of these books on your TBR? Have you read them? Any good? Can you tell Rick Riordan is an auto-buy author for me? Let me know in the comments or – if you don’t want to – think your responses to these questions really hard and see if we have joint superpowers and I can hear them telepathically.
Aw … I got my hopes up and now I’m going to be really disappointed if I don’t have telepathic powers … it’s like when under-11s read the Harry Potter books and have to bear the crushing disappointment when they don’t get a letter from Hogwarts.
